- History Biographical
- Hello I am an archivist and the librarian at the BC Archives. I am currently working with our bound newspaper collection and have come across a lot of material that no longer fits our collection policy. I realize that almost no institutions are collecting newspapers these days, but wanted to reach out to you to see if you would be interested in a loose copy of the Lethbridge Daily Herald dated June 21, 1924. I appears to be a special edition entitled "MacLeod Jubilee : anniversary of the Northwest Mounted Police." Sincerely Taryn Jones

- Notes
- Historical note: this edition of the newspaper was mailed to Mrs. Cree of the Provincial Library, Victoria B.C. by F.W. Godsal, a resident of Victoria but formerly a well-known cattle rancher in southwestern Alberta. The newspaper contains a lengthy article on Waterton Lakes National Park, and Frederic William Godsal is key to Waterton being declared a protected area. In 1893, Godsal began to correspond with the federal government about protecting the Waterton area and environs. Waterton was declared a national forest reserve in 1895. Godsal died in Victoria in 1935. See also 19770285008 and 19770285084 for related information on F.W. Godsal.
