Indigenous Family Camping Near Lethbridge.

Custodial History: "My family (the John Schroeder family from Coaldale) used to visit every summer an indigenous family who camped under the big trestle bridge close to where I think the museum is now - in the early 1940s. I have a small old photo of the 4 children outside their tent". "We were a Mennonite family living in Coaldale. My dad had a service station on the main street. He was terribly gregarious and on Sunday afternoon we would drive somewhere - hopefully find someone to talk to. We visited this family a number of times, perhaps even during several years. I recollect that we took a bag of cherries but it could have been chocolate bars (my father's personal food group)." "The mother is not in the picture, obviously, but she was always there. We never saw or heard of a father, but our visits were always very brief. We did not really get to know the family, though we visited them possibly 4 times. Of course, my parents are long gone as are all but my youngest brother who would have been a baby".
