- Nikka Yukon, a four month old Akita dog was one of five dogs of its kind in Canada. Owned by Sonia Sitz and Kay Ostuk, both of Lethbridge, the Japanese breed of dog was purchased in Michigan and sent to Canada in December, 1971. Nikka was to be used as a show dog and possible stud animal.
