- The incident took place at a Valentine's Dance at which Mayor Shackleford was introducing beauty contest winner Donna Glock. The photographer, Orville Brunelle of the Lethbridge Herald, won a National Newspaper Award and $400.00 for best spot news picture. The Mayor was not seriously injured.
