- Chief Johnstone lived on the Mistawasis Reserve, about 20 miles west of Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. He was Chief of the Cree Band there from 1904-1915. Chief Johnstone received a fractured jaw during a Cree - Blackfoot Battle at Buffalo Lake. Alex Johnstone also believed the Chief to be a participant in the Battle of The Belly River In 1870.
