Scott MacKinnon and Virginia Reid, described at two progressive and hardworking Lethbridge teenagers open the city’s newest coffee house, The Junk Yard situated in the basement of the Central School Drop-In Centre. It was described as “a place for the kids to go.” Once the idea was formulated, capital for the venture was received mainly from two 17 year olds, Mike Kwarnel and Phil Leinweber, and the 11 volunteer staff members as well as from private donations.
