- History Biographical
- Jennie Emery worked in elementary education for 40 years. She started her teaching career in Pincher Creek area and later taught in Coaldale for over thirty years. She taught mostly Grade 1 and also started the first special education class in the County of Lethbridge. Mrs. Emery was involved with the Coaldale Little Theatre, as an actor and organizer. A new Coaldale elementary school was named after Jennie Emery Elementary School in 1993. Mrs. Emery visited the school regularly, attending Christmas concerts and assemblies. Jennie Emery passed away in 2013. She was 102 years old.
