- A Sharp-Tailed Grouse smashed through the storm window in the front of Ted Swihart’s house in Fort Macleod, breaking a pane in the picture window. Some glass cut the bird’s throat, killing it. There had been many reports of sparrows and robins flying into the side of houses but this was the first for a game bird in town. A small flock of the game birds was sighted on the outskirt of the town earlier in the day.
