- Program is for retired people that had a business in Lethbridge. This program talks specifically to Tom O’Grady who was the manager of Canadian Pacific telegraphs in Lethbridge. He talks about his time as a telegrapher. They explain how telegrams worked and the components of the machines used to send and receive telegrams/ wires. The use of Morse code and how one learns. World War II as the turn of events because everything turned into radar and the change from telegraphs to computers. Filmed in a studio. Jumps to footage of a public talk by the Lethbridge Historical Society. Speaker talks about the history of the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce for its 100th year anniversary. She ends her presentation with a slide show of the chamber of commerce members, buildings, and works such as the St. Mary’s irrigation project and the train stations in Lethbridge.
