This VHS is among a variety of films used by the Galt Museum & Archives for public and for educational purposes. Some were produced by the National Film Board, local 2&7, CFCN and Global Television stations.
Scope and Content
Film talks about the importance of coal to the Alberta economy. It explains how it’s made and mined with the new technology versus older technology. It talks about the locations where coal can be found, the types of mining, and land reclamation once a mine closes. The film also gives a history of coal mining and how power comes from coal. Film was produced by The Coal Association of Canada.
