Lancaster and Gorman were Lethbridge Kinsmen Dinner guest. Gorman was an umpire in the National Baseball League while Lancaster was the quarterback for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Murdock, who made his home in California, was one of the founding members of the Kinsmen Dinner while Johnson was a former team mate of Lancaster’s while they were with the Ottawa Rough Riders. The occasion for the upheaval was the eve of the Kinsmen Dinner to be held at the Exhibition Pavilion.
