- Japanese officer of industry and trade, Eiichi Iimura visited Dennis O'Conne of Lethbridge as part of a one month orientation tour of Alberta. He was appointed to the post with the Alberta government office in Tokyo which opened October, 1970. Plans were underway to promote Japanese tourism to Alberta including Lethbridge. He said there was also good potential for increased exports of Alberta canned and frozen vegetables, particularly sweet corn, peas and mixed vegetables.
