- Lethbridge city police signed a new two year contract during a ceremony at city hall. Putting the official seal on one of the documents are J. H. Vasburgh, chairman of the Police Commission, left, and Constable Ed Chymboryk, president of the Lethbridge Police association. Looking on are, left to right, City Manager Tom Nutting, detective Terry Waters, association secretary and Tom Band, city personnel manager. The contract gave policemen an 11 per cent raise for 1970 and a further nine per cent in 1971. Negotiations started Jan. 22, 1970; the arbitration award that settled the matter was handed down Jan. 15, 1971.
