- New cafeteria, part of a $2 million addition at LCI, was used by close to 1,000 people a day. The cafeteria sat 425 and two lunch shits were organized to handle the school’s 1,250 student body. LCI teachers as well as students from neighboring schools made use of the cafeteria at times and in the morning and afternoon, the cafeteria became an informal meeting place and study area. Hot meals were provided daily and priced at 55 cents to 85 cents including beverage. The menus varied from fish and chips to roast beef for the full meal and hamburger, chips, hot dogs and other short orders were available. Many students took their lunches from home to eat at the cafeteria. Staff included three women and up to 15 students.
