- The first of 14 semi-detached residences being built in Ventura Village by Engineered Homes Limited under the NHA program which provided for subsidizing of part of the mortgage interest rate. Each unit carried an interest rate of 5 7/8 per cent. Ventura Village, which also had 10 low-cost single units up and 15 others started at regular interest rates was located north of 9th Avenue N. and west of 6th Street. Other developers putting up residences under the subsidized interest scheme were Nu-Mode Homes which was building seimi-detached unit and Holger Frandsen who was building European-type row housing units.
