Scope and Content
Aftermath of a truck-train collision on the eastern outskirts of Fort Macleod. A 21-year-old Tulsa, Oklahoma man, Larry Allan Hellard escaped serious injury when the semi-trailer truck he was driving was in collision with a Canadian Pacific freight train. Chester Arthur Hellard, his father and a passenger in the truck, received a broken leg in the accident. Both men were taken to the Fort Macleod hospital. RCMP reported the 1967 semi-trailer was demolished. There was no indication of damage to the train or the truck’s cargo of two oil pumper units. It was snowing at the time of the accident.
