- Fire started in the Bowman Arts Centre’s men’s washroom. Workers had been thawing out pipes in the building a week earlier and officials suspected a cigarette was left under the floor which started lint smoldering. There was little or no damage to the building. Fire officials said it was just a matter of cleaning up and a little painting. The fire was extinquished immediately.
