History Biographical

William Baker received his BA in Modern History at the University of Toronto, MA in Canadian History at Carlton University, Ph.D. at the University of Western Ontarion in 1972. He came to Lethbridge in 1970 to supplement the Canadian History offerings. Wm. Baker became interested in the history of Lethbridge and Southern Alberta and this interest defined his research activities and teaching for years. His major research topics included 1906 coalminers' strike and history of NWMP (RCMP) in its local context. Dr. Baker partnered with Professor James D. Tagg to develop the University of Lethbridge Regional History Project (ULRHP), which involved statistical analysis of national census data.
