- Lethbridge Youth Theatre made its first public appearance in a play called Hulla-Ballo, a play for children. About 100 children and adults turned out for the play, one of three given at the Bowman Arts Centre in support of the public library’s book festival month. Youth theatre started earlier in 1970 under the sponsorship of the Allied Arts Council. Director Joan Waterfield indicated more children’s plays would be produced.
