- A new money order system became available at the Lethbridge Post Office. Henry Schaufels, assistant postmaster, demonstrated the new machine which expedited the purchase of postal money orders. The clerk simply registered the amount required with an imprinter similar to those used in gas stations and the purchaser filled in the rest. The machine went into service October 16, 1970.
