- Keho Lake, 20 miles northwest of Lethbridge, became a bleak scene when a fish salvage operation began in October. The water level in the lake was lowered by the Lethbridge Northern Irrigation district in order to repair the canal structures. Fish and wildlife officials felt the fish would not survive in the shallow waters when the lake froze later in the season. Permits for the salvage operation were offered at the Lethbridge Fish and Wildlife office. Fish could be taken for home use only and not for sale or barter.
