Scope and Content

Map 1 entitiled "Probable Location of Indian Tribes North of Mexico about 1500 A.D." (Indians of the United States by Clark Wissler, late of the American Museum of Natural History, New York, Doubleday and Co., New York City.) Map 2 entitled "Culture Areas and Approximate Location of American Indian tribes Today" (originally published by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board) Map 3 entitled "Map showing Indian reservations under federal jurisdiction (Except Alaska)". Legend includes: Indian reservations, tribal lands; Rancheries and Indian reservations too small to show scale; Agency headquarters, State capitals, Names of agencies and non-reservation schools and sanateria. Also designates the reservation when the reservation name is the same as that of the agency.
