Note: Most all Trails and Roads shown are built over or near old Indian Trails Trappers and Fur Traders came up the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers by boat and pack train, beginning in 1807 Mountain ranges are drawn in relief and numerous smaller illustrations with captions also decorate the map - including such things as cattle brands, native animals, sites of hangings, battles, pioneers, native americans, etc.
