Photograph of the Lethbridge Optimist Club’s official title for the Garden of Optimism given to the greenhouse established in Coaldale in November by the Lethbridge Association for the Mentally Retarded. Several adults received optimum education in horticulture at the greenhouse. The sign was purchased by the Optimists from funds received through their annual Hike for Tykes project. Left to right are Earl Endresen, president of the Optimists; Dave Allen, manager of the greenhouse; Bill Falconer, chairman 1970 Hike for Tykes; Chris Switzer, previous chairman of Hike for Tykes; Mrs. Doug Dunlop, president, Lethbridge Association for Mentally Retarded; and Leo Grudniski, president-elect of the Optimist Club.
