- Photographs of the remains of an early morning train collision at Carmangay which pitted a moving 58-car train against a 40-car stationary one which tore off the front area of the train, normally used by the engineer. The twisted wreckage was ripped from the engine on impact. Although the Lethbridge-Vulcan-Calgary Canadian Pacific line was opened the next day, workmen expected to take days in the clean up. The collision claimed the lives to two Lethbridge men, Gilbert Cook and Gerardus Braat and sent three other train crew members to hospital.
