Seeing her off at Kenyon Field is Sid Slater of Lethbridge, provincial president of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans’ Association, sponsors of the trip. The Lethbridge ANAF unit and the Dominion command of the association shared the trip costs for Miss Parkinson. She was chosen from a list of Alberta applicants on the basis of community participation, education and character. The trip was to last two weeks.
