- Lloyd Knight of the Knight & Day Photography Studio started his career with the Lethbridge Herald in 1938 as a messanger. In 1940 he became an engraver covering town events and southern Alberta celebrations. Knight left the Herald job in 1951 to establish his own studio which he ran for fifteen years. He was a charter member and correspondent for the Lethbridge Active International, a young men's service club and a member of the Lethbridge Flying Club of which he was their resident photographer

- A young girl stands on the wooden dock at Emerald Bay in Waterton National Park. On the right is the Prince of Wales Hotel. The buildings on the left are the employee dorms. The boat at dock in the Waterton marina is the Deeidra owned by boat operator Cliff Ott. This was the first of two Deeidras. This one was introduced in Waterton in July 1945. It was an eight passenger + driver craft used to carry paying passengers on Middle Waterton Lake and Upper Waterton Lake. A new and larger Deeidra replaced the first boat in 1949.
