History Biographical
Lloyd Knight of the Knight & Day Photography Studio started his career with the Lethbridge Herald in 1938 as a messanger. In 1940 he became an engraver covering town events and southern Alberta celebrations. Knight left the Herald job in 1951 to establish his own studio which he ran for fifteen years. He was a charter member and correspondent for the Lethbridge Active International, a young men's service club and a member of the Lethbridge Flying Club of which he was their resident photographer
Scope and Content
Aerial of the City of Lethbridge looking from the west to the east. The downtown area is visible above the coulees. The railway tracks separates the north side from the south. Galt Gardens is at the left, Ellison Milling is at centre and at the right the Government Terminal Elevators are visible. The aerial takes in the area from 1st Avenue and 2nd Street to 8th Avenue and a portion of 11th Street.
