- Eddy Dietrich was born in Lethbridge, AB and started playing the violin at the age of 10 and received his music training under Mr. Frank Hosek Jr., and later took lessons with the Dominion Institute of Music. He started performing at banquets and dances in 1948, appeared on the local radio and performed with the Edmonton Symphony and Opera Symphony Orchestras. Eddy Dietrich has won multiple fiddling contests and has played at the U.S.A. for a short time.
