- Portrait of William Henderson born April 1856 and died December 13 1909. He arrived in Canada in 1879 to be a carpenter. He came to Lethbridge in 1883. He married Miss Margaret Thompson in 1887. In Lethbridge he built the Lethbridge Hotel and traveled to Fort Macleod to build the North West Mounted Police Barracks. He and Fred Downer became partners in the hotel business, at one point owning the Lethbridge hotel the Balmoral and Coaldale hotels. He was elected as mayor in 1907 and served for 2 years. William Henderson is also responsible for the layout of Lethbridge.
