Scope and Content
Portrait of John David Higinbotham born November 24th 1864 in Ontario and died April 15th 1961. After graduating from The Ontario College of Pharmacy he became a drug store manager in Fort Macleod. In October 2nd 1885 he and his brother went to Lethbridge and established a new store in the community and also became poster master from 1887-1910. In 1885 he was the first superintendent of the Sunday School at Knox Presbyterian Church. Other organizations he was involved in included: Lethbridge School Board, Citizen’s League, Juvenile Commissioner of Alberta, Alberta Ladies’ Collage, and Alberta Pharmaceutical Association, Lethbridge Lawn Tennis Club, North Star Lodge, Lethbridge Aquatic Club, Old timer’s Association or the Pemmican Club.
