Scope and Content

Portrait of Walter William Lamb who was born in 1872. He came west in 1887 from Kingston Ontario and worked for the North-West Mounted Police. He married Miss Sarah Roddy however she passed away soon afterwards. William married again to Jane Lamb. He arrived in Lethbridge in 1897 where he worked several odd jobs and eventually became partner with Robert McCullough in a contracting business. In 1907 he took a job as a police officer. Later in 1912 he was appointed to be a truant officer, a position d with both the public and Catholic school boards. In total he served 40 years in the police force. The Lambs lived on 75 acres south of the city.
