- Portrait of Peter Lawrence Naismith was born in Pembroke, Ontario in 1865 and died in .He came to Alberta in 1899 and to Lethbridge in 1900 and became a manager of the Alberta Railway & Irrigation Company until 1911.Following the merger of the A. R. & I with the CPR [Canadian Pacific Railway],he joined the latter as manager of the department of naturial resources in 1912 and retired in 1927. He married Annie McCormack in 1891 and thei have two sons. The Naismiths retired to British Columbia.
