- Portrait of Thomas Patrick Nolan who was born on September 16th 1862. On September 13th 1884 he married Thirza Jane Little and he came to Lethbridge from Kansas in 1890 to work at the Alberta Railway and Irrigation Company as an engineer. The rest of the family came in 1891. They lived in Lethbridge until 1902 when Mr. Nolan established the “Nolan Ranch” on the Oldman River north of Coaldale. He raised cattle then horses. He is remembered as an excellent story teller and active in the community serving as the Oldtimers’ Association president in 1946.
