- Photographs of renovations being made to the locker rooms of the Civic Sports Centre which were part of a major upgrading program. Bill Brown, parks and recreation superintendent, said the work was proceeding on all aspects of the job and was expected to be completed in early September. Removal of window was related to the installation of air conditioning. By taking them out, the system was more efficient because it cut down on heat and cold transfer from the outside. The provincial government paid $85,000 of the cost; the city government paid the remaining $13,000.
