- Photographs of cheque presentation for the proposed County of Lethbridge Sportsplex to be built in Coaldale. The establishment grant of $3,700 was paid to the community on a 50 cents per capita basis if it agreed to join in a co-operative recreational program. The first phase of the Sportsplex was a 25-metre swimming pool. Other phases included a curling rink and an area. Douglas Miller, MLA for Taber-Warner presented the funds to Charles Bryant, chairman of the board of directors. Other board members were, left to right, standing Buck Geldert, Lethbridge County Southern Regional Recreation Board director, Earl Faxall, secretary-treasurer; Frank Wiens, and George Begany Jr. Seated at left is Francis Wright.
