Scope and Content: The collection includes patriotic war songs, popular ballads, children’s songs. The annotations indicate that the music was purchased locally and used music lovers from Lethbridge and smaller communities in the area. Audrey Syme-Williams from Barons, Alice LeBow from Stavely and Clareshom, Hilda Stockwell, Laura Dickson, Martha Jensen, May Burnap of Barons, Alec Fraser Carmangay. Children’s songs include Cinderella, Three Little Pigs and Peter Rabbit, The Little Red Schoolhouse, Happy Songs for Children, Do-Ra-Me from the Sound of music. The prints were published in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and purchased from various music stores in Lethbridge, example the Brown’s Musical Supplies 303- 6th Street; The Assinaboia Music Company on 5th Street – 1913, 1916 & 1929; Mason & Risch Lethbridge 1913,and Doug’s Radio and Record store 322- 7th Street. Several samples were retained for their unique Victorian era covers.
