Officiating at the sod-turning ceremony, left to right, Ray Ratzlaff, provincial minister of industry and tourism; Ray Speaker, provincial minster of social development; Senator Earl Hastings of Calgary and Mayor Marv Nattrass of Vauxhall. The plant was designed to produce instant potation granules. Principles in the operation were Vauxhall Produce Ltd. and Pak-Wel Produce Ltd. The complex was expected to be in operation by late 1970.
