- Appeared in the Lethbridge Herald, May 7, 1966. Mildred Dobbs was born in Glouchestershire, England in 1878. She moved to Lethbridge in 1911 and obtained a position as Matron of The Isolation Hospital where she remained until her retirement in 1950 at the age of 74. During her 39 years at the hospital she was the only nurse employed and managed with one assistant who helped her cook and clean. She was on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when ever she had patients.
