The Playgoers of Lethbridge was formed in 1923 by Ernest Sterndale-Bennett, who also fostered the formation of the Alberta Drama League and the Dominion Drama Festival. W.R. (Bill) Matheson, author of the paper on the first fifty years of the Playgoers, was active in the Playgoers for a number of years. These materials were donated by Lesley Little, in memory of her mother Denise T. Black, who was a long-time member of the Lethbridge Playgoers.

Program for the "50th Playgoers Festival Golden Jubilee" which includes letters of congratulation from Peter Lougheed (Premier of Alberta), A.C. Anderson (Mayor of Lethbridge) and Pierre Elliott Trudeau (Prime Minister of Canada). A schedule of productions for the 50th Anniversary season, as well as historical highlights from the past 50 years are featured.
