- Photographs of the site of a planned drive-in theatre and drive-in restaurant to be developed by Fred Weatherup at a cost of $150,000. The photo was taken from Mayor Magrath Drive looking west. The service station-tire discount store on the right faces 7th Avenue S. and was to be remodeled for the drive-in restaurant and theatre facilities. The site extended from 7th Avenue to the power poles on the left of the photo and from Mayor Magrath Drive in the foreground west to the alley adjacent to the grocery store in the background. Mr. Weatherup said if the theatre is located adjacent to the alley, 132 vehicles could be accommodated. If located to the south end of the property, near the power poles at the left of the photo, 147 cars would be accommodated. A plot plan was to be prepared. Prior to this proposal Mr. Weatherup had requested a rezoning of the property to permit establishment of a car merchandizing centre but that idea was turned down by the city.
