- As per information on back of photo: the Vaselenaks, originally from Slovakia arrived in Lethbridge from Pennsylvania. He was sent back by the coal company to recruit more miners and brought 50 back with him - the beginning of pioneer people of Slovak origin in this area. In 1903 the Vaselenak Family homesteaded at the junction of the St. Marys and Oldman Rivers. Other members of the family are Mrs George Belliveau, Victor and E. S. Vaselenak of Lethbridge and Mrs Mildred Rhine of Billings, Montana.
