- History Biographical
- The NorthWest Modified Association (NWMA) is an organization that promoted and scheduled modified racing events on dirt and pavement tracks in Western Alberta. The NWMA was created in 1998 by a group of modified racers from Alberta and Southern Saskatchewan to promote affordable racing and an alternative to the IMCA. All the IMCA rules were adopted with the exception of the engine claim, which allowed all drivers to compete on both tours. Because of affordability factor, the NWMA incorporated an engine exchange policy instead of claim rule. The races were held in Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Swift Current, Regina and Cutbank (Montana). The Association ceased to exist as of 2006. The board of directors and active members included Bob Heffer, Shirley Kincheloe, Rick Ervin, Dave Dietz, Larry Giesbrecht, Lorne Elias, Darryl Fee, Jason Lacelle, Taylor Love, Ray Stafford, Larry Miller, Shannon Heffer, Brett and Mark Hanna, Roger Taylor.
