- Crystal Lake School District #2449 was established in 1911. The school building was erected the same year on the northwest corner of section 12, range 21, township 9, west of 4th meridian. In 1928, a one-room addition was built and school yard expanded. In 1953, the newly built Sunnyside School replaced and old Crystal Lake school; the old site and buildings were sold. - The minute book used to be in possession of donor's father Allan Morton, who was a school board member. When the family moved to Lethbridge in 1954, the book was transfered to David Coutts, who later turned it to Dorothy Wauters.
