History Biographical
In the 1890's, the park was called Athletic Park and was used as a football playing field. It was renamed Eckstrom Park (c.1915) after Christian Joseph Eckstrom, the man who introduced big league baseball to Lethbridge. In 1956 it was reduced to its present size and renamed Kiwanis Greenacres Playground.
