- Photograph of the first work being done for the new University of Lethbridge, west side campus which started in the fall of 1969 following the letting of contracts for site grading and installation of storm sewers. Earth was moved from several coulee banks in preparation for construction and laying of a network of pipes to catch run off water at the top of the coulees and carry it to the Oldman River below. Much of the work could be seen from the city, particularly from along Scenic Drive. Contracts for initial construction and preparation of the building site were to be let in December. The campus was expected to open its doors in September, 1971 to more than 2,200 students.
