- Workers are fitting steal gas pipes during the construction of the 32-mile pipeline from Foremost to Burdett. The project was undertaken by the Canadian Western Natural Gas, Light, Heat and Power Co. to connect the area with the transmission line to Calgary. The labourers joined the pipe sections with Dresser couplings, coated the joints with hot enamel, a tar like substance, and lowered the pipe into the ground. It was back breaking work. Most of the pipeline was competed in record time between May and September of 1924, under the supervision of James J. Morrison, construction superintendent.
