- History Biographical
- The original 6 x 14 foot mural was created by Donald Alvin (Don) Frache, prominent Canadian Artist, in 1959. It was commissioned by Sven Erickson, Restaurateur, and hung in the Marquis Hotel dining room and later the front lobby of the hotel, until being donated to the Galt Museum in 1986. Model for the irrigator was John Deak, then General Manager of Frache Bros (Florists); the automobile near the Post Office was lawyer Allan J Cullin's 1952 Plymouth due to the size of the mural, it was painted in a large room at the YMCA located at 4th Avenue and 10th Street South. The mural photo was used on the dust jacket of "Lethbridge: a Centennial History" By Johnston, Alex. Colour photo by Edward A. (Ed) Keeling, A.E. Cross Studio.
