- Mr. Cross was Superintendent of operations and maintenance with the Canadian Pacifac Railway Department of Natural Resources. He was an accomplished artist who tended to select as a subject the fine work horses kept on the CPR Home Farm. This painting was exhibited at the Independent Artists Association Art Show in Montreal and won for Mr. Cross the honourary degree of Artist Laureate. It was purchased by the Royal Scottish Society of Painters and now hangs in the Brodie Castle in Scotland. Permission for use must be obtained from the National Trust for Scotland.
