- Exterior photograph of new ambulance at the Lethbridge Fire Department to aid in emergency work. The new vehicle was purchased at a cost of $13,000 from a company in Red Deer. The Fire Department received about 1,300 calls for ambulance service in 1968. This more modern vehicle with higher head room and more up to date equipment was to serve as the primary unit while the previous one was kept as a back up unit. The new ambulance was staffed by firemen who were qualified by St. John’s Ambulance as required by the province.
